Idiom
- Bite off more than one can chew
e.g. I think I bit off more than I can chew by taking too many courses this semester, I may have to drop one or two.
- Sleep on it
e.g. when you decide to make a big change in your life, why don’t you sleep on it? Give yourself some time before making such a big decision.
- Break a leg!
e.g. “I’m going to have an interview tomorrow, I am freaking out.”
“Just chill out, you’ll be fine. Break a leg!”
- Drop someone a line
e.g. Just drop me a line when you miss me, remember, I’m just one call away.
- Bigger fish to fry
e.g. I can’t go out for dinner with you tonight, I have bigger fish to fry, sorry about that.
