中嘉课堂《一词多义》第四期

又到了一周一次的分享啦，我们为什么要掌握一词多义的单词呢，因为在阅读中，在不同语境中，同一个单词它的意思是不一样的，所以就需要我们在背诵单词时一定要注意它的词性以及它的多个意思，最好的方法当时时结合语境背诵会更加容易，那今天我们就继续来学习几个一词多义的单词吧。

 

① weak adj.

e.g. She is still weak after her illness. 

解释：“身体虚弱”，她病后仍然虚弱。

 

e.g. That bridge is too weak for heavy traffic. 解释：“易破的，不牢固的”，那座桥不太牢固，承受不住过多的车辆。

 

e.g. I enjoyed the movie but I thought the ending was very weak. 解释：“不能令人信服的”，我喜欢这部电影，但是觉得结尾很牵强。 

 

e.g. She prefers weak tea.

解释：“（指液体）稀的”她喜欢淡茶。

e.g. The unions have always been weak in this industry. 解释：“没有能力，能力差的”在这个行业，工会一直没有权威。

 

 

②underground

e.g underground cables 解释：“地下的” 地下电缆 

e.g an underground resistance movement 解释：“秘密的，非法的” 地下抵抗运动

 

e.g I always travel by underground. 解释：“地铁”我总是乘地铁。 

“metro; subway”也是地铁

 

 

 

③pride

e.g. We take great pride in offering the best service in town. 解释：“骄傲，自豪感”我们以能够提供全城最好的服务而自豪。

 

e.g. Her pride was hurt. 解释：“自尊心”她的自尊心受到了伤害。

e.g. Lions, for instance, usually live in relatively permanent group, called a pride.

 

解释：“狮群” 例如，狮子通常生活在一个相对固定的群体中，这被称为狮群。
